Summary:

This presentation will review the history of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the evolution of ABA practice, and what current implementation looks like today. The need for additional adaptation to the founding 7 dimensions of ABA will be addressed, and the 8th dimension of compassion will be presented. Guiding principles of compassionate care will be shared and participants will reflect on their own practices and the role of compassion.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will review the history of ABA and the need for compassion as an additional dimension of ABA.
2. Participants will learn 5 guiding principles of compassionate care.
3. Participants will reflect on the role of compassion within their own practices.
